for my conceptual drawing class, we were required to create a wearable sculpture from an unlikely material. i was inspired by the “f*ck fast fashion” campaign i was creating for my graphic design 2 class, so wanted to create a garment made out of recycled materials. i wanted to explore the harmful nature of fast fashion and plastic pollution on our environment so decided to create a balaclava made from plastic bags. i made yarn from the bags and weaved them together to create a balaclava. finally, i styled the balaclava on me using makeup and hair that tied into this idea of plastic pollution in our oceans.
